Super Toy!

Adrienne's Aunt Ellen and Uncle Barry got her this sweet brain-enhancing, super toy, space ship thing. It's got everything: music, puppets, mirrors, spinning things that make noise. The best part? Babies seem to love all of that stuff--it entertains them for hours! Who knew? (Well, except the entire baby toy-makin' industry).

Here are pics (and one bad video) of Adrienne taking it for a spin.

Like Mother, Like Daughter, Pt. 2

This photo, much like this one, isn't staged. It's just the quick digital camera work of an enterprising husband (and dad).

98th Percentile of Cuteness

Adrienne went in for her four-month check up (and some more shots). As you can see, going to the doctor looks a lot like torture. But it's not really that bad--and she's a trooper. The current baby stats are (drum roll, please):

Height: 25.5 inches (90th Percentile)

Weight: 15 lbs., 8 oz. (90th Percentile)

Head Circumference: 16.5 inches (don't know percentile, but that's a nice noggin)

Cuteness: Off the charts

All Washed Up

No baby blog is complete without requisite bath time pictures. The pics are just too adorable to resist. Now we know, especially when it comes to this cuteness.

Here's a picture of a baby in a bath wondering why we're taking a picture of a baby in a bath.

There's nothing like a hooded towel to start the day.

We can never have enough close-up shots of Adrienne.

More Adventures with Regan (without Regan in the Photos)

After safely returning to the East Coast after her playdate with Adrienne, Regan emailed us her shots of their time together. Here are a few of the digital Kodak moments:

Tummy time on the Huntington grounds.

Foxy, Lady: A little face time with "Foxy" (yes, every toy gets a baby name, it just happens).

Adrienne loves being held up high and "standing" on her legs. We think she's going to skip the whole crawling phase, since that's for babies.

We decided to bring Adrienne to the most inappropriate place ever for dinner--a fondue joint! Luckily her little hands couldn't reach the hotplate or the boiling cheese, oil and chocolate. Danger aside, she was into it.

After getting used to it we decided to move Adrienne from a diet of breast milk to exclusively fondue, sushi and kimchi. She's so cosmopolitan.

A Day at the Huntington

Adrienne, Maura and Regan had a day out at the Huntington Library Garden thingy. Give credit to her time in daycare or Regan's wild baby mojo, but either way, here is new photographic evidence of Adrienne actually enjoying herself being held by someone who isn't her mom or dad. That's a pretty big deal in our book.

Oh, and here's more baby close-up pictures, because there aren't enough of those already.

The Fuzzy Bee and Friends

Just as the Squishy Turtle book became an instant favorite, The Fuzzy Bee and Friends is also a cherished new item in the Griffin household. Even when she's sleeping, Adrienne won't let give it up.

Virtual Fridge: Adrienne's First Painting

Just three days in, Adrienne is already expressing her artistic side at day care. This first Adrienne Griffin original was created on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. The composition is clearly that of at least a five-month-old and the daring use of color is reportedly rocking the baby art world. Bidding starts at $1 million.

Adrienne and Samantha

Adrienne visited her little cousin Samantha Grace Tabolsky and tried to not hog the entire picture frame with her relatively large (and adorable!) head. By the numbers: Samantha weighs in at around 5 lbs., Adrienne clocks in at 12/13-ish, we're guessing.

The two played nicely, and by that we mean we laid them next to each other and no hands or feet accidentally went flying into each other's faces. It went well for as long as you can expect two babies to lay there. The friendship's off to a great start. But we do hope all of their future playtime adventures don't end like this one (see below).

New Year's Eve 2007

Here's what you do when it's New Year's Eve and you have a three-month old (WARNING: gross baby poop picture below):

Bust out the Martinelli's Sparkling Cider (grape). Yum!

Get that baby into something cute and in her swing.

Enjoy some takeout Thai food from around the corner.

Change the poopiest diaper of 2007.

Pose for the big moment (9 pm PT, by the way, in case you're from child protective services).

Adrienne and the Squishy Turtle

Adrienne has officially found her first favorite toy (besides her hands): The Squishy Turtle and Friends. It's the book that can solve all problems, calm a crying baby down in seconds and even entertain a happy baby for, like, minutes. How does it do it? Who knows? Who cares? But we're ready to blend it, bottle it and sneak it in her milk.
