Adrienne's Saturday Out

Adrienne had quite an exciting Saturday doing everything her parents' like to do, which included drinking coffee, going to Best Buy and taking pictures of Adrienne.

The day started off by rolling down Colorado Blvd. There's a part where the concrete becomes brick and it really gets Adrienne's cheeks bouncing. We tried to capture the magic on video.

Then it was time for coffee and gifts from friends Maria and Mike at local hangout Swork.

We took a break in the afternoon for one of our favorite new activities: an impromptu baby photo shoot.

Next, it was off for an exciting afternoon with Uncle Jeff to Costco (not pictured) and Best Buy.

Adrienne contemplated getting an LCD TV. One day her parents will let her enjoy the brilliance of high def. But there was only room in the car for the baby or the TV. We chose the baby...this time.

Gallery of Gratuitous Cuteness: Adrienne Photos by Jeremy

Jeremy has been using his kick-ass new camera to snap pictures of Adrienne (aka The Widget) in her many states of being--from looking like a bunny to possibly being attacked by a cat. Enjoy the show.

Adventures Around Town

Adrienne is getting around town more than ever. Some recent new experiences include the following (note, the webmaster is too tired for witty commentary so don't expect any below):

Enjoying Eagle Rock's finest dining establishments, like Erine Jr.'s...

...being held by Jeremy Burri and not instantly crying like a baby...

...and taking a stroll around the Rose Bowl.

Tummy Time with Mom and Dad

The other weekend, Adrienne shared some tummy time with mom and dad (that's us). Who does she most look like now?

(Semi)-Inappropriate Adventures with Baby: Sizzler!

We don't have a lot of time. We don't have a lot of money. But, boy do we love Texas toast. Adrienne got to experience the magic of Sizzler in Eagle Rock, thanks mainly to Rae's love of the place (who, because we're sometimes forgettable picture-takers, isn't in any of these photos).

This is actually after the meal--and we're still all smiles, even after the questionable soft serve "ice cream."

See this warning sign about what not to do with the baby seat? It's exactly what the hostess did with the baby seat. Thank you, Sizzler!

Baby loves Texas toast...

...but while JR had the steak and Maura had the chicken, Adrienne enjoyed milk (again).

Ah, another fine dining experience. Next stop, Red Lobster! Or Olive Garden.

Virtual Fridge: Adrienne's Minimalist Work

Maybe she was following the lead of minimalist painters or she was just in that kind of mood that day, but after exploring purple hands and pink glitter and sand, Adrienne's latest piece is an experiment in artistic self-control. She just didn't feel that the construction paper needed that much finger paint to make her point.

The day care people said she didn't make a fuss when finger painting (most kids do)--to which we're rather proud. Oh, and they said to bring more wipes for her bum. But that's another story.

Adrienne's Pink Hat

No big story. No big adventure. Just a couple of cuties, one in a pink hat.

Inappropriate Adventures with Baby: Shakespeare's Pub & Grille

Adrienne got to go to her first bar. Okay, it's actually more a restaurant-pubby thing. Kind of. But there sure was a lot of beer there. It all happened when we went to San Diego to watch American football (aka the Super Bowl) with the Pooles, who are Brits and love a good fish and chips, bangers and mash and a pint.

For the record, Adrienne stuck with the breast milk.

We had to get a picture of the baby in front of ye old sign, established in...oh, 1990.

Here are Mr. and Mrs. Poole (aka Mark's parents). They fit in perfectly because they're totally British.

Two pints and a pint-sized girl.

And the mother of the year award goes to...

See, there was actually food there--and authentic HP Sauce. Yum!

Adrienne did keep an eye on the shiny taps...

Virtual Fridge: Adrienne's Pink Sandy Period

Adrienne continues to pursue her art career during her days away from her parents. It's really the only way she can get through the loneliness of missing us. Ah, the life of the struggling, pained artist.
